Canada’s passion for Porsche is growing. So are we.

Porsche Cars Canada has broadened its market reach, welcoming three new Porsche Centres this past year.

Porsche Centre Kelowna was opened to service a growing number of Porsche customers and fans in BC’s Okanagan region. Across the country, the new Porsche Centre North Toronto and Porsche Centre Rive-Sud boast amenities such as a gym, configuration lounge, and fully covered service bay.

Immortalized in rubber.

We partnered with Toronto-based artist Kwest to create a ¼ scale likeness of the 911 GT3 Cup car—using nothing but Yokohama tire rubber.

Now, recipients of the “Spirit of Speed” sportsmanship award during the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada will be celebrated with a plaque on the ultimate monument of speed. This past season, the top honour went to DFC Motorsports/Speedstar Motorsport, represented on the track by Platinum Masters competitor Tim Sanderson.

A new beginning.

This year, we moved to a new corporate headquarters, further solidifying the brand’s commitment to the Canadian market.

The new facility in Toronto’s North End offers the benefit of a dedicated space, including the first training centre for Porsche Centre technicians nationwide.

Class is in session.

2017 marked the first year of Porsche Sport Driving School operations in Canada.

The first waves of instruction took place at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario. Developed and taught by professionals, participants will have the opportunity to work through the program’s levels, all the way up to a full racing licence.

One million 911s. United by a single vision.

54 years after the first, the one-millionth 911 was born – just as beautiful as the original.

When the extra special “Irish Green” Carrera S rolled off the production line, a celebration ensued. But while lucky number 1,000,000 will spend most of its life under a spotlight in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Woodbridge, Ontario’s very own Rob Tenuta is the proud owner of the one that got away. The 999,999th 911, a red Targa 4 GTS, has joined the Cayman and 911 in Tenuta’s garage.

Exceeding expectations is our speciality.

While Porsche engineers have been smashing records on the track, we’ve been smashing a few of our own.

While the year isn’t quite finished yet, from January 1 to December 1 of 2017 we sold 7,540 new vehicles – a 7% increase over the previous year. Porsche Financial Services Canada’s impressive contract volume played an important role in this achievement as it too reached new performance heights. And with over 71 consecutive months of sales growth now in the books, it is clear the Porsche product portfolio continues to appeal to an increasing number of Canadians.

Naturally, getting more of our sports cars out onto Canada’s roads drove up sales of seasonal equipment: After Sales surpassed its winter wheel sales goal, moving a record number of sets well before the first snowfall. Expectations were exceeded in 2017 with a four-month streak of record-breaking sales rounding out a year of tremendous accomplishments.

To top it all off, Porsche made significant strides this year moving up 3 spots to #2 in the J.D. Power Customer Service Index and closed out this record-breaking sales year at #1 overall on the J.D. Power Canadian Sales Satisfaction Index.

6 minutes and 47.3 seconds.

In September, the 911 GT2 RS set a new record for street legal sports cars on the 20.6-kilometre Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The 700 hp powerhouse completed the legendary Nürburgring in 6 minutes and 47.3 seconds—ahead of its target by a full 17.7 seconds—exceeding even Germany’s expectations for the fastest, most powerful 911 to date.
